I managed to snatch away a couple of hours to visit the Citadel in Cairo. Here are a few pictures.This picture shows the contrast between the tall spires of the minarets that are built in the Turkish tradition and the shorter fatter ones that are more common in the Arab world.

Visitors are allowed into the mosque whatever their faith. You just have to take off your shoes.
